Storyline
A prequel to the series, the story follows Jim Peyton, who recounts as an old man how he first came to the frozen planet E.D.N. III. Decades earlier, hoping to earn enough to support his family back on Earth, Jim signs on with an expedition funded by the NEVEC corporation to mine the planet's precious Thermal Energy, a blood-like substance that could solve humanity's energy crisis. Piloting a massive utility rig across the hostile ice, he works alongside a crew of scientists, technicians, and fellow pilots.
